Programmes

Network Enabled Capability (NEC) for Command and Control (C2) in systems integration and information sharing has been identified as a priority objective by the UK MOD.

The VRC under the NEC umbrella has a number of research activities as illustrated in the diagram below. Although the work primarily focuses in NEC for Ground Manoeuvre (Land Systems), the application environment of the VRC investigations can further be seen as relevant to wider military and civil sectors.

Facilities

The centre is equipped with specialised hardware and software development tools for modelling, simulation, design and prototyping facilities. Unique demonstrator testbeds employing technologies such as MilCAN, FlexRay, and TTP, various distributed control systems, wired and wireless communication networks, embedded and network processors.
